"Architecture is defined by connections: the method and the material by which an assembly is developed to create enclosure. This process results in an active performative connection, one that is specific and definitive producing an architecture that can be built through iterative means. REPEAT asks that you look first at the connection and then – through repetition – define the whole. In brief, by evaluating the design process from this perspective, what emerges?
Lab Opens July 20th to Beta Members
We open the lab to Beta Members Tuesday July 20th and would love to hear from you. We will be sending emails with more info later today. If you don't get an email and are interested in receiving more info give us a call or shoot us an email. This is truly a milestone for us and the community. Those possible beta members that came to our round table and our open house are the core of our lab and we look forward to collaborating with all of you soon.
Watch the June 2010 Sparkplug Talks
The video of our June 2010 Sparkplug Talks is up and you can check it out on the Fab Lab ABQ channel of Vimeo.
We had a great time, the turn out was awesome, and from what we've heard, you had a great time as well! Being part of Savor Week made it a busy but exciting week. We hosted a movie night, got to hang out with our friends at Trillion Space, and were honored to co-host a Bone Making Event with Naomi Natale to support the One Million Bones Project.
The purpose of the Sparkplug Talks is to introduce people to some of the interesting and important projects that are going on in our community. We think you'll agree that the speakers for this event fill that purpose.
